Photo Shoot – Day 2

Although there were several really good photos from the first shoot, I didn’t feel like any of them were quite right for my CD artwork. So my photographer, Robert Rainbow, and I decided to do another shoot.

I’ve done quite a bit of traveling throughout the U.S. There are several places that I enjoy so much it’s difficult for me to leave. Some of these places include Burlington VT on Lake Champlain, Yosemite National Park, The Adirondacks, Savannah GA, and Jekyll Island. We decided that Jekyll Island would be the perfect location for our next shoot.

There are many things I love about Jekyll Island. My favorite things are walking on the driftwood beach and admiring the Spanish Moss.

Robert and I drove down to Jekyll Island on Saturday morning with plans to shoot photos all day, enjoy a few drinks, and catch the sunrise for a few more shots. When we first arrived we were a little concerned because there were wild fires burning on the mainland and the entire island was engulfed in a thick smoke and ash. But we had just driven six hours and we weren’t going to let that stop us. Thankfully, within a few hours of arriving, the wind changed direction and the smoke cleared.

We spent a total of about eight hours battling mosquitoes and shooting photos. But the time flew by as we were having a great time.

If you’ve never been to Jekyll Island, I highly recommend it. You can rent a small cottage for cheap or stay in one of the motels on the island. The views are amazing and the beach is very uncrowded!

Until next time,
Rahn
